Line Shift is a sculptural exploration of space, light and geometry. Using a single continuous line of LED neon, Soren Voss creates a work that is both minimal and monumental. While the form appears simple, it fundamentally alters the perception of the space in which it exists.
The cool white light casts a subtle glow onto the surrounding wall and floor, giving the work an architectural presence. The combination of straight lines and open space invites viewers to reflect on direction, structure and the relationship between light and environment.
Voss’ practice investigates how minimal interventions can produce maximum visual impact. By combining sculpture, design and technology, he creates works that exist between object and atmosphere.
Line Shift demonstrates the artist’s ongoing interest in perception and spatial awareness. The illuminated line becomes both drawing and sculpture, transforming a functional material into a contemplative artwork.
